We work to position the Seventh-day Adventist Church and its services to a standing of credibility, trust, and relevance in the public realm.

Dr. Nelu Burcea, Associate Director

Dr. Burcea, elected at the General Conference Session in July 2015, is the newest member of the PARL team. His task will be to continue developing relationships on behalf of the church with various international institutions. He brings to the department a strong educational background and administrative skills, along with a long-term commitment to ministry and mission.

Dr. Burcea’s most recent appointment has been as director for Communication and Public Affairs and Religious Liberty for the Adventist Church in Romania, and director of the Romanian Adventist Media Center, which includes the Speranta television network, and Voice of Hope radio network. He has also served as a local church pastor and led out in numerous evangelistic campaigns in Europe and the United States.

Dr. Burcea has many educational credentials, including a PhD in Economics specializing in Management Business Ethics, a Masters degree in Management of Business Development, and a Theology degree. He has also completed postgraduate study in Media and Marketing and Diplomatic Protocol and Communication. He is currently a Postdoctoral fellow at Harvard University focusing on the area of “Religious Freedom in Former Communist Countries.”
